20 Questions with two time All-Ireland Boxing Champion

On Saturday 7th April- Callum Mc Gillin in 8B won the National Schoolboys’ Boxing Championship for the second Year in a row. The bout took place at the National Stadium in Dublin and Callum competed against boxers representing each province, beating John -Paul Mongan from Munster in the Finals 5-0.

Callum has been boxing since the age of seven and trains with Sacred Heart Boxing Club, Omagh, and was nominated for the Tyrone and Fermanagh Juvenile Athlete of the year.

This week I managed to catch up with Callum to find out what has him punching above his peers.

Winning All Ireland National Boxing Championship 2 years in a row

Hurting my hand in the Belfast opens and losing because of my injury at the start 2017

10 Toughest opponent?

 

My 2017 national finalist who I beat to win the all Irelands last year.

Try and progress through the All Irelands next year again and hopefully onto the Europeans (it’s a big ask as all the guys competing are bettering themselves constantly so if I don’t put the training in this won’t happen).
