Conall McCrory Memorial Tournament

news cover

On Thursday 23rd June Omagh CBS held their 3rd Annual Golf Tournament in perfect conditions at Omagh Golf Club. A very successful and enjoyable day was had by all as 35 pupils negotiated their way around the par 71 course, posting some excellent scores from the white tees. In memory of our late friend, team-mate and pupil Conall McCrory the tournament shield was retired and this year pupils competed for the inaugural Conall McCrory Memorial trophy, a magnificent replica of the famous Claret Jug, kindly sponsored by Conall’s parents and won on this occasion by Sean McGowan with an incredible score of 42 points. In his acceptance speech Sean remarked that it was “an honour to receive this trophy” and he thanked Ciaran and Mary McCrory for sponsoring the prizes. Omagh CBS Vice-Principal Anthony White added that this trophy and occasion will be cemented in the school’s calendar for many years to come as our way of remembering a very skilled golfer and dearly missed pupil, Conall.
