Fionán collects prestigious Science Award

Former student Fionán McBride was recognised as one of the top achievers at a recent awards ceremony in Belfast.  Fionán won the Hans Sloane Medal, a very prestigious award which recognises exceptional young students excelling in the field of science.

The Hans Sloane medal goes to the student obtaining the highest combined marks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics each year at A-Level.

Fionán who is now studying Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast was presented with the award and a cheque for £500 as recognition of his academic accomplishments at the Christian Brothers Grammar School.  Senior teacher, Mr C McBride also received a Hans Sloane medal on behalf of the school to recognise excellence in teaching.
