Pupils receive Pioneer Total Abstinence Pins

Pioneer news

A significant number of students that participated in the pioneer club with Mr Murphy during their lunch times recently received their pioneer pins.  These pupils have reaffirmed their pledge to abstain from alcohol until the age of 18.

The aim of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association is to promote positive lifestyles. Pupils are encouraged to participate in sport, express themselves through Music  and Performing Arts and excel in their academic studies. These pupils have made a public statement that they will promote this positive lifestyle by wearing their Pioneer Pin, praying and by abstaining from alcohol until they are 18. The boys have made this commitment as a prayer for people who struggle with alcohol abuse in the hope that they are able to adopt a more positive relationship with alcohol or seek the necessary help to improve their own lives thus improving the lives of the people around them.
