Electrical Apprentice Engineer In Conjunction with Southwest College (Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology)
Working with a hands‑on approach, the Electrical Apprentice will undertake a structured apprenticeship in electrical installation, wiring, and electrotechnical engineering. Alongside formal study, the role provides practical experience within the CDE factory, offering valuable exposure to electrical build, testing, and safe working practices. Completion of the programme leads to a nationally recognised qualification and accreditation.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, opportunities may exist to progress into Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Technician, Junior Engineer, or further Higher-Level Apprenticeships, depending on performance and business needs.
Required criteria
Hold a good level of secondary education with a high degree of numeracy and literacy.
Applicants must satisfy the general entry requirements for the course provider, which include GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
Possess and display a keen interest in engineering.
Highly motivated with a strong desire to learn and progress.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times.

Enthusiastic, energetic self-starter able to work on own initiative
Clearance to work in UK
Desired criteria
Basic understanding of electrical principles or practical experience (school projects, part time work, technical clubs, etc.).
Familiarity with hand tools or electrical equipment.
