The Certificate in Access Studies (Northern Ireland) programme is a free course which targets year 14 students interested in studying at LYIT. Students who successfully complete the Certificate in Access Studies at LYIT with an overall average of 50% will have the opportunity to progress to any course of their choice (except Nursing) at LYIT. Quotas may apply for some courses. The student would not have to apply to the CAO to join LYIT, they would use the ‘direct entry application’ process to join LYIT. This course would suit a student who is doing a combination of A-Levels (BTEC’s & standard A-Levels) who may be interested in joining LYIT in 2022. The course requires a one-evening per week commitment and will be delivered online by LYIT Lecturer Chris McCallion, who is highly experienced working with A-Level students. The programme covers the following modules:
- Communications
- ICT
- Learners Skills
This course is due to commence ONLINE in mid-February 2022. If you wish to find out more about the FREE programme that provides a gateway to LYIT, then email victoria.wilson@lyit.ie
