Level 3 ICT Apprenticeship

Information technology

Belfast

Hybrid (combination of office & remote working)

Apprentices will be employed in various infrastructure or software development roles with the firm, we will invest in training to help apprentices gain Level 3 IT Apprenticeship in Networking Infrastructure. This apprenticeship course will cover units in the following areas: computer networks, cyber security, fundamentals of IT, computer systems – hardware and software and IT technical support.

What we offer 
The apprenticeship scheme at Allen & Overy truly is an exceptional experience. If successful, you will be exposed to the latest technologies and be immersed in providing real time support to our customer base all the while receiving on the job training.

You will spend time with the IT Global Service Desk Team providing first line support on an array of software and hardware technologies. You will receive regular training and mentoring as you navigate through the different support scenarios that our IT professionals manage. You will get to know our customer base and quickly see the value that your support brings to the firm.

You will also have the opportunity to work with our IT Deskside team where you will get hands on experience with our IT infrastructure, learn a multitude of skills that ensure our customer base have the tools and local support needed to carry out their duties.

The opportunities don’t end there. Upon successful completion of your Level 3 Apprenticeship you can apply to do a Level 5 Apprenticeship and if successful, will work with one of our 3rd line teams and focus on specialised solutions and support within their remit.

Key requirements

  • Previous experience is not required; we are looking for candidates with an interest in pursuing a role in the ICT sector.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs of Grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.
  • Pass at A Level in any subject area OR an equivalent qualification in any discipline.

HR Apprenticeship

Department purpose
The HR Support Service Centre at Allen & Overy provides a first-class service to the firm, offering high quality administration support services through a range of specialist teams including HR Advice, HR Systems & Reporting, Graduate Recruitment, Payroll & Reward, Training Events and Global Mobility.

Role purpose
We are currently seeking two apprentices to join our HR Systems and Reporting teams. The apprenticeship is offered as a 2-year fixed term contract.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will undertake a Level 5 Business Data Management Apprenticeship Programme with Belfast Met. In addition to this you will learn how the business operates and gain a variety of skills by supporting the firm’s global people systems and handling requests for HR data and management information.

The role will involve working with and supporting our international offices from day one.  Working across core HR Systems processes will provide you with practical experience that will equip you to think differently and embrace an exciting future: one that’s filled with unique challenges and a broad range of opportunities.

Key requirements

  • Experience is not required but applicants must possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs of grade C or above, including English and Mathematics, and a minimum of 2 A Levels of grade C or above.
  • A collaborative team player willing to help others for success of the team.
  • Good communication, time management and organisation skills.
