Job description

As a Civil Engineering Apprentice in our Roads team in Belfast, you will be supporting your team on local and national projects. You will work on a range of projects at all stages of the infrastructure delivery including major projects and local improvements including active travel, walking and cycle schemes. Responsibilities

  • 2D drawings and 3D modelling using software such as AutoCAD.
  • Supporting work on the design of local and national highways projects. Working with our design teams to put together information and reports for clients.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • You will have achieved or are predicted 5 GCSEs grade C/Level 5 or above in English, Maths and Science.

Desirable Skills

  • Communication skills. IT skills. Attention to detail. Problem solving skills. Team working.

As an Advanced Apprentice at WSP you will be a full-time, permanent employee, getting paid while working on real-world projects from day one. You’ll start your apprenticeship in September 2025, attending a local college for either one day per week or block placement, gaining a full BTEC Level 3 qualification. Typically, the Advanced Apprenticeship takes between 2-3 years to complete (including End Point Assessment in England).

We also work together with local colleges to make sure you are getting the best out of your apprenticeship.
