Considering a career in the games industry

The global games market is a $159 billion industry, with 2.7 billion people globally playing video games. It is one of the few industries to see growth as a result of Covid-19; nearly 50,000 people now work in the UK’s games industry, with constant demand for talented programmers, artists, animators, designers, musicians, testers, and more.

“How to get into the games industry” is a FREE livestreamed event from 4-6pm on Tuesday 16th November, featuring acclaimed developers giving their advice and taking questions about getting into the games industry.

Game development studios presenting include Codemasters (F1 2021, Dirt 5, Fast and Furious Crossroads), Frontier Developments (Elite Dangerous, Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo), Creative Assembly (Total War, Alien: Isolation and Halo Wars 2), Unity (Unity engine) and more to be announced nearer the time.

Abertay UniversityEscape Studios and the University of Salford will also talk about the games courses they offer, and be available online for the event duration to answer any questions.
