Engineering Apprenticeship – Almac

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week (Inclusive of day release at college)

Almac has a strong track record in delivering apprenticeship programmes in several areas including Engineering. Building on this success of recent years, we are excited to recruit two Engineering Apprenticeships who will be enrolled on a programme of study with either SRC OR SERC.

 

This will be a 4-year programme, starting as a Level 2 apprentice and progressing to Level 3 following successful completion of year 1 and 2. Combining academic and on-the-job learning across a number of subject areas will lead you to the achievement of Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Engineering.

We are delighted to offer two Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities within our Engineering Department at Almac Central Services.

 

Toolroom Machinist

As an Engineering Toolroom Machinist Apprentice, you will learn all aspects of the Almac toolmaking role including toolroom and workshop tasks such as material preparation, manual milling, lathe work, surface grinding, drilling, bench fitting and tooling assembly, progressing to CNC milling, lathe, surface grinding, EDM, setup, operation and programming at machine HMI.

Refrigeration

As a Refrigeration Engineer Apprentice, you will be required to attend training chosen by the training facilitator and when not in training you will report to work in Engineering Department. As part of your role you will assist with planned maintenance and general upkeep of company with all HVAC and refrigeration plant throughout the Almac business units. You will be involved in monitoring and ensuring the upkeep of spare and replacement part stock levels for relevant machinery. You will also assist with emergency breakdowns and completing scheduled maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration plant throughout Almac.
