Students at Omagh CBS have again produced exceptional GCSE results. With over 1400 GCSE results arriving in the school during the last week. 99% of the boys achieved five or more GCSEs between A* and C. With 98.5% of Omagh CBS students achieving seven or more GCSEs between A* and C, their results are again among the best for grammar schools in Northern Ireland.

 

55 of the 139 Omagh CBS students achieved five A grades or better in their GCSEs.

 

29 Pupils achieved 9 or more Grade A or A* in their GCSE Subjects; David Quinn achieved 10 A* grades; Ruairi McLaughlin achieved 9 A* grades and 1A Grade; Turlough Mullin achieved 9 A* grades, 1A Grade and 1 Distinction* Grade; Ryan McCrystal achieved 8 A* grades, 1A Grade and 1 Distinction* Grade; Ronan Cassidy achieved 8A* grades and 3 A grades; Kaspar Jarosz achieved 8A*, 2A grades and 1B; Ryan Colton, Adam McFadden, Shea Conway, Paul Furey, Darragh Rice, Oran Leonard, Blaine Feeney and Ryan Gormley achieved more than 10A grades.

 

40 Pupils achieved 7 Grade A or A* or better in their GCSE subjects.

 

Omagh CBS Principal, Foncy McConnell, commended the outstanding achievements saying, “All of our GCSE students are challenged by giving them the opportunity to complete up to 10 GCSEs with some taking the opportunity to study up to 12 GCSEs. Once again, I must pay tribute to the diligence and dedication of our all of students, the excellent quality of teaching offered by our teachers and the on-going support of the parents of our students. We have already begun the process of interviewing all of those students seeking to continue their studies at Post 16 level in Omagh CBS, both from our current pupils and those wishing to join us from other local schools.”
