Key Responsibilities Year 1
Network Awareness / Familiarisation
Pre construction planning and design, estimating, assets, policy documents, construction activities, to include SAR, Plant, OHL and Jointing.
This will be in line with a detailed training plan and associated assessments.

Year 2 & 3
The successful candidates will complete their AP training and start to complete a SAP Operational Training Plan supported by an experienced Mentor and focus on specific role.
SAP Authorisation Panels will be conducted at end of year 3.
In addition, year 3 of the HLA will be a work-based learning Project where the higher level apprentice will complete an NIE Networks relevant project provided by the business with a 1-day release to NRC.
All HLA’s will be required to sit a completion interview. The successful candidates will be confirmed in post. A detailed salary progression path will be developed.
Year 4 (optional)
This optional year is designed to provide additional support and mentoring if required.

Qualifications and Skills
Qualification: Foundation Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Entry Requirements: NIE Networks recommend a minimum
• 3 Grade C or above at A-level, preferably including Maths or Physics or;
• BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (MMP*) or;
• BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering (MM*)
*M – Merit; P – Pass
• All candidates must have a Grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English
NRC and Ulster University (UU’s) entry level requirements are lower with 56 UCAS points, DEE A-level and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (MPP).
