Closing date for applications: 19th January 2022
This online Optometry event will offer potential students a chance to meet a specialist hospital Optometrist, an Optometry lecturer and current student Optometrists.
You will learn what it takes to be an Optometry student and what different roles are open to modern Optometrists by attending a short lecture and joining a series of relaxed and fun practical activities.
The session will be interactive so there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions about what it is like to train and be an Optometrist.
A professional Optometrist is trained to detect visual problems, manage defects of sight and prescribe visual aids using advanced instrumentation and clinical judgement.
Modern Optometrists also have the ability to manage and treat eye disease while working in hospital clinics and high street practices.
Qualified graduates go on to diverse and exciting careers in hospital practice, high street practice, the optical industry, vision science research and academia.
We look forward to seeing you on the day!
