Letter to current students applying to study Medicine at a Republic of Ireland university
My name is Aidan Kelly and I am a past student at your school. I am currently in my 3rd year of study of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin.
I am making contact with you on behalf of MOVE, a charity run by medical students from the college that aims to raise funds for underprivileged hospitals in developing nations. Each year students run a HPAT talk in order to raise money, as well as pass knowledge learned from sitting the exam on to younger years. This is the second HPAT talk that we shall be running and it will be more tutorial-based, with a focus on answering questions and perfecting techniques in the final fortnight before the exam. As a result, it will still be beneficial to those who attended our first talk last year.
The webinar will take place via Zoom on Friday the 4th of February at 6.30pm. Aside from the step-by-step worked examples, it will also contain suggestions for improving techniques, study advice, exam day preparation, and tips for the days leading up to the exam. An interactive Q&A session will be held throughout, allowing students to talk directly with those who achieved some of the highest HPAT results in the country. The webinar is not only for those sitting the HPAT this year, but also in 2023, as finally, we will be giving general college and admissions advice.
Tickets to the talk are €15, and all proceeds raised go to underprivileged hospitals. We understand access to expensive HPAT teaching can be a barrier to many hoping to study medicine in the future, and so these tickets will include a discount code for Medentry HPAT courses for both this year (HPAT 2022) and next year (HPAT 2023), the latter of which will be eligible from the end of February.
A link to book tickets is provided below, as well as a poster containing a QR code that students can scan with their phone to bring them directly to the booking page.
We have a very limited number of free tickets that we hope we can give to students that qualify for EMA. If you have any students that would like to avail of this, have them contact us at email@example.com
