Message from Atlantic Technological University, Letterkenny – CAO Reduced Fee Deadline – This Saturday 20th Of January

ATU logo-340

Students can apply to CAO for a reduced fee of €30 before 5 pm on Saturday the 20th of January 2024. The fee will then increase to €45 until the normal CAO application closing date on the 1st of February at 5 pm.

Students do not have to put their final course preferences at this stage if they are unsure of which courses, they would like to apply to. They can simply and quickly add their personal details and education details etc and then when the system reopens between the 7th of May and the 1st of July, they can use the change of mind options to input their course choices.

While, understandably Northern Ireland Universities will remain the most popular choice among a large percentage of your students, we would encourage everyone to consider ATU as a viable alternative. ATU, conveniently located on many students’ doorsteps, offers a competitive option for those who might otherwise consider traveling to the UK for their studies. We encourage any students, or staff or are interested in learning more about ATU to attend one of our open days/evenings. You can find the list of open days/evenings  here

As one of the largest universities in Ireland, ATU is a multi-campus university spread across the west and northwest of the country. There are many benefits to studying at ATU including:

  • The choice of courses – 240+ CAO courses
  • 8 campuses, located from Galway City to Letterkenny
  • Low fees of €2,000 (2023 fee) for undergraduate courses – Did you know that Student Finance & SUSI grants supports NI students to study in the Republic of Ireland
  • Loans: Applicants from Northern Ireland can secure support to cover costs of studying in the Republic of Ireland
  • No second language requirement to joint ATU
  • Simple application process via CAO with no personal statement required.
