As a Mortgage Apprentice you’ll be down to earth and engaging, taking time to get to know your customers, so that you can consistently deliver an excellent customer experience.

With a friendly demeanour and the ability to build relationships, you’ll thrive in understanding our customers’ circumstances and identifying how we can best help them in fulfilling their mortgage needs.

About the Programme:

Starting in September 2023, you’ll be supported through a Providing Financial Services – Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework, delivered by our training partner Babington and supported by your Line Manager and Apprenticeship Coach.

You’ll also be sponsored for a Level 3 Certificate In Mortgage Advice and Practice provided by the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF).

Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme you will have dedicated ‘Mandatory Apprenticeship Hours’ which can include activities such as, shadowing, reading and completing assignments. The rest of your time will be spent supporting our customers and applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe environment.

Your learning and development will be supported by a structured training journey.

As part of this role you’ll:

Be a trained home buying expert, providing knowledge on our products and processes to support our customers through their journey

Organise your day to deliver an outstanding customer experience, efficiently and effectively handling all queries

Embrace change to help our customers with their needs, proactively contributing ideas and suggestions to improve our processes and/or ways of working for the benefit of customers and colleagues

Take time to build strong, lasting relationships with your customers and colleagues, embracing coaching and seeking feedback to support your development

Use your judgement and available tools to identify and support customers in vulnerable circumstances

Hours and Location:

You’ll be based on-site at our Lloyds Banking Group office in the Gasworks, Belfast. We work on a hybrid basis, and once you’ve completed your training, there will options to work between the office and home.

As a Team we’re there for our customers across the full week when they need us. We operate Monday – Friday from 08:00 to 20:00, Saturdays 09:00 – 16:00, so you may be required to work evenings and weekends as part of this role.

What you’ll have:

We expect you to be motivated, ambitious and committed to your own development.

You’ll be studying towards at least one A-Level (or equivalent) or have at least one year’s work experience by September 2023 – these can include predicted grades.

If you haven’t already achieved GCSEs Grades 4 – 9(or equivalent, such as CCEA grade at A*- C) in Maths and English, we’ll support you to complete your Functional Skills in these areas to bring you up to this level.
