At NIE Networks we have over 50 years experience training apprentices in our dedicated in-house facilities. Training is provided by our experienced training instructors and we have a history of providing jobs and career progression on the successful completion of apprentice training.
We need people who are highly motivated and able to demonstrate a practical hands-on approach, combined with enthusiasm, drive and determination. In return, our Apprenticeship programme will help the successful applicants gain qualifications at Level 3 in technical specialist areas, in a highly skilled job role.

Each year we recruit apprentices for one or more roles depending on our business requirements. This year we are currently looking for Planners, AutoCAD Technicians and Digital Cartographers.

During the two year programme all apprentices will work towards achieving a nationally recognised qualification alongside gaining new technical and practical skills.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet our entry requirement:
• To be 16 years old from the start date (September 2021)
• Hold or expect to achieve 4 GCSE passes at Grade C (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English language & STEM related subject by the start date.

NIE Networks is a 24/7 business. We require significant flexibility from our employees when responding to severe weather such as storms, snow, gales, flooding and lightening; these events can damage equipment and cause power cuts to homes and businesses. This can be outside normal working hours.

Read our FAQs  for full details about the apprenticeship programme.

The application window is open until midnight on Wednesday 10th March 2021.
