We are delighted to celebrate another exceptional year of A-Level results, with students achieving remarkable success across a wide range of subjects. In total, 48 students were awarded 2 A grades or better, reflecting the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence. These achievements are a testament not only to the hard work and ambition of our students but also to the unwavering support of their families, the dedication of our teaching staff and the excellent educational foundation received in their respective primary school.
Among the top achievers at A2 Level:
- Gareth Owens: 2 A* grades and 2 A grades
- Michael Murphy: 3 A* grades
- Finn McGillin: 3 Distinction* grades
- Eoin Donnelly, Brian Gallagher, Conan Gallagher, and Fearghal McGurren: each earned 2 A* grades and 1 A grade
- Matthew Loane: 2 Distinction* grades and 1 Distinction grad
- Sé Devlin, Enda Donaghy, Luke Gormley, Jack Kennedy, Eoin McCaffrey, Carraig McKenna, Lewis Morgan, and Joe Mullan—achieved 1 A* and 2 A grades.
Many of these high achievers joined Omagh Christian Brothers Grammar School after completing their GCSEs at other local schools, drawn by the school’s broad and inclusive Post-16 curriculum. These students, alongside their peers, are now progressing to a diverse range of higher education pathways, including university degrees and Higher-Level Apprenticeships.
Success was also evident at AS Level, with outstanding performances from:
- Senan Doyle, Peter Gormley, Ben Higgins, Ultan McConnell, Emmett McKiernan, and Pawel Sidorenko: each achieved 4 A grades
- Felix Baxter-Duncan, Hugh Gormley, Cormac McCarney, and Michael McNamee: each achieved at least 3 A grades
Newly appointed Principal Mr. Stephen Keown praised the collective effort behind these results:
“It is a privilege to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students. These results are the product of a strong and supportive partnership between pupils, their families, and dedicated staff. At Christian Brothers Grammar School, success is built on collaboration, and these outcomes are something the entire school and wider West Tyrone community can take pride in.”
Recently retired Principal Mr. Foncy McConnell added:
“As our students move on to the next stage of their journey—whether university, apprenticeships, or employment—we are confident they will continue to thrive. They leave not only with excellent academic results but also with the values, skills, and character developed through their time at Omagh Christian Brothers Grammar School. We are proud of the young men they have become and the positive impact they will make in the world.”
