The open day is designed to showcase the wide range of careers available within pharmacy and is aimed at:

  • School leavers considering future career options
  • Adults seeking a career change
  • Existing healthcare staff exploring progression and development opportunities

The event will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about pharmacy roles across hospital settings, as well as the education, training, and career pathways available into pharmacist, pharmacy technician and pharmacy support roles.

In addition to a range of information stalls, the day will include:

  • A tour of the pharmacy department
  • A demonstration of our dispensing robots
  • Opportunities to speak directly with pharmacy professionals about their roles and experiences

The event will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the breadth of roles within pharmacy, including career pathways that do not require university education, such as pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support roles and work-based training routes. We are keen to highlight accessible entry points into the profession, as well as progression opportunities.

In addition to roles that do involve higher education (Pharmacist) the day will focus on:

  • Pharmacy support roles that can be entered through on-the-job training
  • Pharmacy technician opportunities to develop a career in pharmacy while earning and learning
  • Clear progression pathways within pharmacy without the need for a degree
