The Sentinus Research Academy provides students aged 16–18 with the opportunity to take part in real, online research projects designed in partnership with leading universities, including Queen’s University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin. Projects are delivered virtually from late June to the end of July and are supervised throughout by an assigned project mentor, who supports students via structured online meetings across the four-week programme.

This programme offers students:

  • A valuable insight into the expectations of third-level education
    • Experience of working on university-style research projects
    • The opportunity to develop analytical, independent learning and problem-solving skills
    • A strong addition to UCAS and personal statements

There is a finance administration fee to participate. However, there are limited no-fee pathways available for students in receipt of EMA to ensure accessibility.

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and applications will close once capacity is reached.
