Spotlight on Accounting

The Careers Occupational Information Unit (COIU) has published a new guide focusing on careers in accounting. Produced in collaboration with representatives from the local sector, including professional accounting bodies, colleges and universities, the guide explores:

• What accounting is
• Common myths about accounting careers
• The demand for accounting skills

Spotlight on Accounting contains valuable insights into accounting careers, through a range of infographics and video and article-based snapshots, featuring local people working in a range of different roles, as well as students and apprentices. It highlights key skills and personal qualities that are important in this sector, and offers an overview of the entry routes available. Also included are signposts to useful resources, to support further careers research.

The information in Spotlight on Accounting will be useful to anyone interested in a career in accounting, from career explorers to career changers.
