When should I apply?

It’s important to apply early. To make sure you get your money in time for the start of your course.
Remember, you do not need a confirmed place at university to make an application.

How should I apply?

The quickest and easiest way to apply is through your online account and it only takes 30 minutes.

If you’re a new student, you’ll need to create an account with us when applying.

You may already have an account if you have applied for student finance before or received EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance). If so, you should use the same account details and CRN.

If you’re a continuing student, you can re-apply on your online account

Part-time undergraduate and postgraduate Master’s students

If you’re a part-time undergraduate or postgraduate Master’s student, it’s too early to apply. These applications will be available later in 2024.

To make sure you receive your first payment at the start of term, you must return the application and all of the evidence requested by 30 April 2024.
