Top Students in Northern Ireland


CCEA have just released the overall top students in each subject in Northern Ireland. We are extremely proud to announce that we had students placed in the top 3 in 7 different subjects at GCSE Level.

Fionán McBride who had just celebrated achieving 11 A* grades at GCSE placed in the top 3 in 4 subjects. Fionán placed 2nd in Geography, joint 2nd in Mathematics, 3rd in Double Award Modular Science and joint 3rd in Irish.

Agriculture and Land use is a relatively new course for the CBS, however Oisin Harkin and Daire Devine placed 1st and 2nd respectively.

Once again the technology department reached the top with Matthew Quinn placing 1st overall in Northern Ireland in GCSE Engineering and Manufacturing students Richard Connaughton and Padraig McNamee placing first 1st and 3rd overall.


At A-Level Ciaran Melarkey placed first overall in GCE Journalism with classmate Conal Donaghy achieving third place.
