UCAT 2022 – Registration now open

UCAT-340

What is the UCAT?

Most UK universities require applicants to sit an admissions test in addition to their other entry requirements. The UCAT is required by the majority of UK universities and must be sat in the summer of 2022 by students who want to apply to member universities for entry in 2023.

The UCAT is a mandatory admissions test for the majority of UK medical and dental schools.  It is used within the admissions process to help select the most suitable applicants for these challenging courses.
Students sit the test during the summer before they submit their UCAS application in October.

Which Universities require the UCAT?

33 UK universities now require applicants to sit the UCAT as part of their mandatory admissions process – a full list can be found on our website.
UCAT scores are then considered alongside academic grades and other relevant entry requirements in the university selection process.

Key Dates for 2022

Registration opens 24 May 2022, from this date candidates can create a UCAT web account and then book their test once booking opens on 20 June.  Testing takes place between 11 July – 29 September 2022. We strongly encourage candidates to sit the test at their earliest convenience.

Where can students sit the test?

The test is sat at a Pearson VUE test centre (similar to where students would sit their driving theory test).
The easiest way for them to check their nearest test centre and available test slots is by following the steps to book a test through their UCAT account once booking opens on 20 June 2022.
