UK Cyber Security Council: Youth Advisory Panel

The UK Cyber Security Council are recruiting members to join their second Youth Advisory Panel.

The Panel will continue to provide a youth voice across every part of the Council, lead projects, and raise awareness of routes into the profession. Panel members will work with an organisation uniquely placed to steer the future of the UK’s cyber security sector.

 

So far, the Panel has

  • Led careers webinars inspiring other young people,
  • Advised the Council on establishing entry-level pathways
  • Represented young people in decision-making across the council in committees and working groups
  • Contributed to thought leadership pieces
  • Created and maintained an Instagram account (@uk_cybersecuritycouncil) including an original cypher challenge.

 

Panel members have

  • Received support to enhance their personal and professional development
  • Influenced the Council’s decision-making
  • Joined a new cyber security community.

Who can apply?

16 to 25-year-olds based in the UK with a passion for cyber security.

 

Expected commitment

Successful candidates will serve a voluntary position on the Panel from April 2025 to April 2026 with the opportunity to be re-appointed at the end of the term. The role will include meetings and project work, expected to be approximately 4-6 hours of their time per month.

 

Key dates

Applications go live on Monday 20 January. Applications close at 17:00 on Sunday 9 February. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a video call for the week commencing 17 February and successful candidates informed by 8 March.
