Ulster University – ICT and Engineering Workshops August 2019

The School of Computing, Engineering and Intelligent Systems at Ulster University, Magee Campus will be running a 2 day workshop for Year 13 students on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st August 2019.
The workshops will include the following:
ICT Workshop – will involve a range of team based project activities using a Raspberry Pi, Computer Games Development or creating a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) model. Year 13 students should be studying: Maths (or have GCSE Additional Maths), Software Systems Development, Digital Technologies, GCE Applied ICT or IT Technical OCR.
Engineering Workshop – The School will provide the pupils with a taster of its Engineering courses that are on offer, in the areas of Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical and Renewable Energy, as well as other subject areas, Computer Science and Information Technologies. Year 13 should be studying: Maths (or have GCSE Additional Maths), Technology and Design, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
This will be an excellent opportunity for pupils to gain an insight into the work of the School and sample like at University. It will be an opportunity to explore a possible career path engaging in discussions with key staff.
