Ulster University Intelligent Systems 2 Day Workshop – August 2017

Ulster University are running the School of Computing and Intelligent Systems Workshop at Magee Campus, Derry for the 8th consecutive year, on Tues 29th – Wed 30th August 2017. This year the workshop will have an emphasis on Engineering.

 

The School will provide the pupils with a taster of its Engineering courses that are on offer, in the areas of Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical and Renewable Energy, as well as providing information on its other subject areas, Computer Science, Information Technologies and Computer Games Development.

 

This workshop will involve a range of team-based project activities using, for example, Raspberry Pi, or creating a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) model.  It will give students an insight into university life, as well as assisting them in making informed decisions regarding their upcoming UCAS applications.

 

Criteria: The workshop is open to students who are currently in Year 13. Students must be studying at least one of these subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Maths (or have GCSE Additional Maths), Technology & Design, Engineering, Software Systems Development and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).   NB. Students offering ICT, should also be studying a Science/Maths A-Level.

 

Speak to Mrs McGaughey or Mrs McMorrow ASAP if you wish to attend this workshop, as places are filled on a first-come basis. All interested students must fill in an application form.
