Rapp Virtual Design Insight Session 7 October 30 September Our Insight Session is designed to introduce you to our world with a key focus on our functions within the Design department. You’ll hear about what a typical day in the life of involves and some hints and tips about how you can kick start a career in advertising and marketing within a Design Team.
Ulster University -Embracing Talent 14 October 1 October Delivered over three hours, it provides participants with an opportunity to develop a range of skills needed for the workplace or preparing for HE/FE. Upon completion you will be awarded an Ulster University Certificate of Completion.
Jacobs: Exploring the world of Engineering 25 – 29 October 11 October You will take part in practical tasks to help you understand 8 different areas of engineering, from nuclear engineering with NASA projects to designing a factory from the ground up! 10am – 3pm each day
Ascential: Creative Content and Marketing 26 October 1 October This virtual event will be held for 90 mins from 16:00 to 17:30 and is designed to give students an insight into Ascential`s global marketing brands and the many facets of a career in marketing. This event will consist of a series of sessions, including an introduction to marketing, panel discussions with experts across Ascential marketing brands, and practical career advice.

 

3C Building Control 26 October 8 October You will discover how Building Control interacts with other service areas within local authorities and wider construction industry. Expect to hear stories about the types of things you can expect to see on site and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask lots of questions! This session runs between 1pm-3pm and is for students who are interested in learning more about how to start a career in Building Control. No previous experience working in the construction is required!
Reach PLC – Working in Media and Journalism 26 -27 October 10 October This is open to students from 14 to 16, with an interest in storytelling; whether that’s through the written word, images, video or animation. The programme will run 10am – 3pm.
Tetra Tech – Insight into Engineering 26 – 28 October 12 October Tetra Tech Europe is a leading provider of consulting and engineering services. Our multidisciplinary teams work with clients to find solutions across a wide range of sectors: Property and residential, Defence, Transport, Water

 

RLB- Project Management, Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying 27 October 8 October Students will have an immersive insight in to various roles and more specifically will be involved in undertaking roles in project management, building surveying and quantity surveying. What are the key skills you need to be successful in undertaking a career in these roles? How does these roles fit in to the wider construction industry? Are you a creative, logical thinker and problem solver? Are you passionate about the environment, sustainability and use of materials? This insight day will give you a greater overview and immersive insight into the industry.

Get a clear understanding of what working in the industry will actually look like, complete real work and assignments and interact with industry professionals during live webinar sessions. Complete all work and assignments at times that are suitable to you.
Colas 25 October 19 October You’ll delve into design, engineering, construction, project management, and much more. You’ll also cover sustainability and social value, as well as their ‘back office’ roles in HR, Legal and Finance. Throughout, you’ll deepen your learning with quizzes, activities and webinars with professionals. Complete all work and assignments at times that are suitable to you.
Finance & Accountancy 25 October 19 October You’ll learn about a range of financial services sectors including accountancy, banking and insurance. You’ll meet, and have the chance to question and interact with, professionals from each of these key sectors. You’ll learn about the day-to-day lives of these professionals as well as the pathways they took to their current roles. Finally, you’ll complete work and assignments which will help you gain a broad understanding of the finance industry. The virtual work experience programme involves around 10 hours of activity. You can complete the work over 2 weeks, meaning you can fit it around your schedule.
Siemens 25 October 19 October On this two-week virtual work experience programme, you’ll be introduced to the world of engineering and technology and learn about how Siemens is paving the way towards a more sustainable future. During this programme, you will meet with Siemens experts to explore the core focusses of the business, such as digitalisation, climate action, smart infrastructure and diversity and inclusion. You’ll also be able to discover the variety of roles across the company.

Planning – including aims & objectives, differentiation, learning styles, special needs and lesson planning. Lesson Delivery – including confidence & intonation, using interactive technology, eliminating distractions and behaviour management. Grading & Attainment – including why we grade work, measuring attainment, using a rubric and positive reinforcement. Safeguarding – including what safeguarding is, the 6 principles of safeguarding, safeguarding children, reporting a safeguarding issue and bullying.
Law 25 October 19 October You will cover the following areas: Introduction to Law as an industry Legal Research – including what legal research is, the purpose of legal research, the types of Legal Research and an overview of the legal research process. Advocacy & Client Communication – including why client communication is so important, tools for effective client communication, why becoming a good advocate is so important, tools for effective advocacy, best practices, communication security & ethics and considering the whole client journey. Contractual Interpretation – including the main principles of contractual interpretation, orders of precedence or priority clauses and condition precedents. Legal Analysis & Drafting – including what legal analysis & drafting is, why legal drafting is important, what the role is of legal language in law and examples of pleading.
