Virtual Work Experience – VGC Group – Construction & Civil Engineering

Are you interested in construction and civil engineering?

Do you want to know what and who it takes to put a large project together? And would you like the chance to talk to them and ask them questions?

Are you starting to think about your next steps after GCSE or A-levels and wondering what industry would best suit you and your interests and skills?

Do you want to hear from apprentices and graduates and be able to ask them their opinion on education pathways?

If you are aged 15+ and would like to see first hand how a large infrastructure project is built as well as gain an insight into all the various roles that are needed to build these such as HS2, Thames Tideway and motorways this could be the work experience week for you. A company reference will also be provided to you from VGC group upon completion of the week for your personal records.

The week will include:

  • How a project is put together
  • What roles are needed to build from site to office
  • A day in the life on site (virtual site tour)
  • Meet the team with Q&A opportunities
  • How does IT impact construction
  • How does Health and safety work?
  • What is social responsibility?
  • Tips for interviews and applications
  • Education and career paths
  • Interactive sessions and project work

VGC Group are one the largest labour suppliers in the construction industry across the UK.

 

Speakers for Schools Experience Programme have a large selection of virtual work experience currently available. Many of these are with UK companies and pupils from NI are eligible to apply.
