SALARY £26,100 – can increase to £30,000 (on transition from Assistant to Engineer)

About the Role
We are currently seeking a number of Water Management & Leakage Detection Trainees, with an ambition to work in the water industry. We recognise that our people are what make us a great place to work, so we’re always looking for talented individuals that have the drive and ambition to help the environment by reducing water leakage. The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain access to the water industry within the UK and Ireland.
No prior water industry experience is necessary, however candidates will have the required qualifications, professional attitude and methodical approach to their work. The company will provide all successful candidates with a 12-month trainee programme of structured training resulting in a CABWI Level 2 Diploma in Water Operations, associated Health and Safety certifications and an opportunity for career progression within the company and the industry.
Being a Trainee, you will work alongside experienced Water Management & Leakage Engineers assisting in leakage management on both public and private water networks. Working outdoors you will develop the skills to carry out a full range of water management and leak detection activities on behalf of our clients to include:
- Assisting with all forms of leakage detection under the direction of a lead technician to include
- Analysing network operating pressure, determining and controlling optimum pressures
- GIS data collection
- Assisting with completion and compliance of all company returns and H&S reports
- Assisting with programming, deployment, collection and analysis of flow, pressure and acoustic logging equipment
About the Candidate
- Secondary level education, preferred subjects – Maths, IT-Computing, Science, Geography and English
- Professional attitude and good interpersonal and communication skills
- Adhere to Management Structure and follow all Company Policy, Procedures and Directions
- Target driven to contribute towards the achievement of contract objectives
- Good numeracy and computer skills to include a familiarity with spreadsheets and mobile applications
- Hold a full valid clean driving license and have transport to and from work sites
- Ability to cope with the physical nature of the role including entry into confined spaces
- Available to work out of hours when required
- Be able to work safely and responsibly at all times
- Obtain a standard Access NI certification
Useful Previous Experience
Experience in the following would be beneficial but not essential:
- Previous outdoor work experience
- IT experience to include a familiarity with GIS software
